Comprehensive solutions for every cross-border challenge

We guide our clients through the complexity of Czech law and provide tailored support — to individuals, insurers and companies alike — so that your interests are protected even when a matter spans several jurisdictions.

Below you will find the areas where we are asked to help most often, beginning with three in which our cross-border experience makes a particular difference.

Priority areas

Traffic accidents

A road accident abroad is stressful enough; the paperwork, the claim and the foreign insurer that follow can be worse. We represent injured parties, vehicle owners, hauliers and their insurers in connection with accidents in the Czech Republic. We assess liability under Czech law, deal with the police file and expert reports, quantify and pursue claims for personal injury and property damage, and negotiate with the liable party's insurer — taking the matter to court where a fair settlement cannot be reached. If you were injured here while travelling, or your vehicle was, we make sure distance and language do not cost you your claim.

Recourse claims of foreign insurers

When an insurer abroad has paid out, the right to recover from the party responsible — or their insurer — often has to be enforced in the Czech Republic. We act as local counsel for foreign insurance companies, handling recourse and subrogation claims from first assessment through to enforcement. We advise on prospects and limitation periods under Czech law, gather and review the file, pursue the claim against Czech debtors and insurers, and conduct litigation where needed. Equally, we defend Czech parties against recourse claims brought from abroad. Throughout, you receive clear reporting and predictable handling in your own language.

Cross-border inheritance

An estate that touches more than one country brings questions of jurisdiction, applicable law and the recognition of foreign decisions — areas where small mistakes have large consequences. We advise heirs, executors and families on Czech succession proceedings and on the EU Succession Regulation (Regulation 650/2012), including the European Certificate of Succession. We help when a foreign national leaves assets — typically real estate or a business interest — in the Czech Republic, and when Czech heirs inherit abroad. From probate and the determination of heirs to the transfer and registration of Czech assets, we manage the process so that an inheritance from afar does not become a second burden.

Further areas of law

Civil law

The everyday backbone of cross-border matters: contracts, liability, debt recovery and damages. We draft and review agreements, advise on disputes and represent clients in civil proceedings before the Czech courts.

Real estate law

Buying, selling, leasing or developing property in the Czech Republic. We handle purchase contracts, escrow arrangements, land-register matters and due diligence, with particular care for the questions that arise when a buyer or seller is based abroad.

Tenancy law

Advice for landlords and tenants — residential and commercial — on leases, rent, termination and disputes, including matters where the owner manages a Czech property from another country.

Inheritance law (domestic)

Beyond cross-border estates, we advise on wills, succession planning and the administration of estates under Czech law, so that your wishes are given effect clearly and reliably.

Family law

Marriage, divorce, maintenance and matters concerning children — frequently with an international dimension, where more than one country's courts and rules may come into play.

Employment law

Support for employers and employees on contracts, terminations, disputes and the particular questions raised when staff or operations cross the Czech border.

Corporate law

Advice across the life of a company in the Czech Republic — formation, governance, shareholder matters, transactions and restructuring.

Company formation & holding structures

We set up Czech companies, including the limited liability company (s.r.o.), and design sensible cross-border holding structures that let profits be managed efficiently within a group.
